About KARLA

I am a blogger who is currently based in the United Kingdom.

I used to work as a copywriter for an American book publishing corporation many years back. I also had my fair share of contributing my work as a corporate magazine columnist in a media company in the Philippines.

I did many things with my life and wore many hats. One of which was working in travel and hospitality. I was a travel specialist for Expedia then eventually moved to become a Communications Specialist for Hilton Hotels. I also worked as an IELTS instructor for a few years.

While I am passionate about communications, most of my career is spent working as a nurse as I have a degree in Bachelor of Science, Major in Nursing from the Ateneo de Davao University, a private Jesuit Catholic school where I spent my education from preschool to University.

I was a Clinical Instructor for the Philippine National Red Cross, as well as  worked as an Agency Manager for a Health Maintenance Organization. I am a licensed Registered Nurse by profession and worked at a busy, renowned and reputable 1,200-bed capacity Philippine hospital before I moved to London many years ago.

As a licensed UK-RN, I worked in a hospital in London as a specialised nurse in an acute care setting.

I finished a specialist Ophthalmology course at the University of West London. Currently, I work as a Perioperative Nurse in a major acute teaching hospital.

A travel enthusiast and a gym goer, I spent years of my life being physically fit and active since childhood. I enjoy nature, yoga, reading books, and going to the beach. I also recently developed a new-found fondness for cooking.
